Sitter Gone Mad

AHHHH! I just finished babysitting two very LOUD kids. Usually, they are just difficult but never have they been so rude and obnoxious as they just were. They're boys, so I understand that they like to be rough and loud occasionally, but this was way out of control!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were fighting as usual, and one punched the other in the eye. The one who was punched was being annoying, but hitting is NEVER okay. I was so mad at them because they had been picking at each other for hours and I told them to leave each other alone. One of the boys hit me. When I tried to break them apart. WELL, they don't listen to me at all, so naturally, they kept fighting. I just knew someone would end up crying. And sure enough, one did. He started screaming and wouldn't tell me what happened. He ran into his room and locked me out. I told him I couldn't help him until he stopped crying and let me see his eye. He screamed for one hour straight. I'm not kidding. I told the other boy to apologize, but he doesn't listen to me. By that time I was at my wits end. All morning they had been so mean and rude, and had ignored me when I asked them to do something. I was pushed earlier and then hit, and then they started calling me names. I was worried the boy in his room was really hurt, so I called my mom and told her I couldn't handle it anymore. I was doing it for three hours by then and I was fed up. My mom came over, and looked at the boy's eye. He was fine, he just had a very small cut on his eyelid. It wasn't nearly big enough to cry about. My mom decided to hang out until I was finished. Well they stopped fighting and started playing a game where they threw objects at their opponent's head. I said that this was not a good idea because they could brake something. They didn't listen. And even after my mom said not to throw things, they didn't listen. And sure enough, they broke a VERY expensive piece of art. My mom got so mad she yelled at them and sent them to their rooms. I was even frightened. I had never seen her so mad! I know, they weren't her kids, but at that point they were out of control. Personally, I don't blame her. We cleaned up the mess and gave their mom a full report when she came back. She felt terrible and embarassed, but I told her they usually have at least some respect for me, and that this seemed like a one time thing. Boy was I glad to be out of there. I felt really stupid having to call my mom, but I was worried something was really wrong with his eye, and he had locked me out of his room and wouldn't tell me what was wrong.

Oh well, at least the money was well earned...
